BAFTA have clumsily, knicker-twistingly exposed themselves as the parochial, celebrity pandering studio pawns I always suspected they were and noone else seems to have noticed.

It happened like this:

1. This is England was not nominated in the Best Film category.

2. This is England beat Atonement to the prize for Best British Film

3. 'Atonement' won the Best Film category.

We had assumed that British Films were a subset of All Films so when 'Atonement' is not even the Best British Film how on earth can it be the Best Film?

Yes, something is disjunctive on Piccadilly and this breach of the logical continuum must not be tolerated.

The laws of logic demand that 'Atonement' be swiftly erased from the Academy’s annals and 'This is England' rewarded with its rightful place.
