What Makes Cannes So Special?
Last night, Cannes closed its doors for another year after a spectacular fortnight of film. Actors and directors from all four corners of the globe came together in this, its 60th year to appreciate and of course, to critique 2007’s cinematic offerings. But, away from all of the hype and celebrity, why is Cannes celebrated beyond the many other film festivals? Surely it can’t be because it has the longest red carpet or the most tanned A-listers! Cannes is often praised for its serious approach and its ability to attract media attention for all right reasons. What do you think? – Is Cannes just like any other film festival, perhaps just bigger and better, or does last night’s winner of the Palme D’Or prove that Cannes is truly about the quality of film and nothing more? I for one thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of the event, and was fascinated by the award ceremony, even if England left empty-handed, again!

The Cost of a Kiss
Cannes Film Festival isn't all air kissing and networking, this week saw the amfAR party, which included a celebrity auction to raise money for the American Federation for Aids Research.  All the big names turned up to the event hosted by Sharon Stone, with Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell and Mischa Barton all in attendance.  It's was at this party that one man donated $350,000 for George Clooney to kiss his wife (a cruise on a yacht was thrown in for good measure) and Kylie sang two songs earning a whopping $100,000 per hit for the cause.  To see just a selection of the stars making their way to the event click on the screen below!

The Ocean's Thirteen cast stomped the carpet last night and the crowd went wild.  George, Brad, Matt, Andy and friends all looked jaw-droppingly handsome as they posed on the red walkway...  It's not up for the Palme d'Or, but if awards were being given out for the most handsome cast, the Ocean's franchise would win handsdown.
